Kids and YA Festival
Has been a busy year of festivals this year, with the latest on the weekend being the information-packed Kids and YA Festival run through Writing NSW.
I felt honoured to be among some huge names in kids lit, have a lot of laughs and banter both on stage and off, and mingle with writers, readers, teachers, teacher-librarians and publishing people!
If you are a parent, a reader, a teacher, teacher/librarian or an aspiring writer of children's and YA literature, I highly recommend this festival! You get to hear both high-brow and entertaining author panel sessions about the current literary climate and the future landscape, as well as meeting and greeting authors afterwards to speak about the needs you see for how we can keep kids reading, keep them engaged and empowered.
